  KR Biotech Co.,Ltd was founded in September 2009 as a venture enterprise, at Konkuk University Animal Bioscience and Technology. Based on the high level of research and technology, we study therapeutic vaccines for animals such as White spot syndrome Virus (WSSV) as well as for the human subject such as HPV cervical cancer and influenza. Therefore, in order to meet the needs, KR Biotech developed a platform technology,  ‘baculovirus based DNA vaccine’ that replaced only the antigen gene in the mutant, which will be a potent treatment for the viral diseases.  We are conducting a study for genetic vaccines for many viral diseases of human and animal target by using this technique.(2) Development of antiviral agents and disinfectants.In the case of Influenza A (H1N1), it is epidemic around the world and raises number of deaths annually. Currently various therapeutic agents are developed and used such as Tamiflu. However there are some needs for new therapeutic agents for influenza that could effectively overcome the side effects and drug-resistant virus. Also, the hands are the most frequent way of contracting the influenza virus, thus the importance and the awareness of hand hygienes are being raised. Therefore the development of antiseptics that are antimicrobial, and anti-toxic from natural products are required. In order to meet the needs, our company carries out developing new influenza antiviral therapeutic and antiseptic by using natural products in order to control resistant of existing influenza therapeutics and highly pathogenic influenza A virus.(3) Research and development of cosmetics from natural materials.The existing cosmetics for inflammatory skin contain various chemicals for the relief and side effects such as secondary skin problems usually occur. KR Biotech develops anti-inflammatory skin care from natural products by national standards including stability, and safety evaluation through the clinical trials and is being commercialized for developing functional cosmetics.
